Oblivion Taproom is set to open at 5101 East Colonial Drive. From what we have read and heard this place appears to be everything a great beer bar and grill should be. Great beer, great food, and great conversation. Most importantly, there will be no annoying TV's and no loud music. They will feature a thoughtful selection of 40 craft beers on tap and lots of bottles too! On top of all that, Chef Goody has put together a menu of burgers and bar favorites like you've never seen before! Sounds like an ideal atmosphere to enjoy a craft beer and a burger. You can check out their menu and find out more about Oblivion Taproom at their website http://www.obliviontaproom.com/index.htm.

Event Information |PurchaseTickets Redlight Redlight is introducing 3 beers from Lazy Magnolia today and we're excited to have them in Orlando. Lazy Magnolia is a Mississippi brewery that uses some very "southern" ingredients to make very unique beers. Sweet Potato Cream Stout, Southern Pecan Pie, and Indian summer are on tap today at Redlight.
We can't wait to sip on some of the Southern Pecan Pie. Its described as the first beer in the world made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category. Find out more about Lazy Magnolia and their beers at www.lazymagnolia.com. Please let us know if you've tried any of these beers and what you think.... Today is International Beer Day! The purpose of this magnificent day is threefold.
So drink good beer with good friends today and be safe about it. Orlando receives about 85 million visitors each year. The great state of Maine is the real "Vacationland" though. It even says so on their license plates. Gritty McDuff's has a microbrewery and a few brew pubs in Maine. They make a summer ale that is appropriately named "Vacationland" and it's one of the best we have tried. It's described as an Extra Special Golden Ale that's light in color but full-bodied, with a snappy hop finish. They use generous portions of pale malt with just a touch of wheat malt to give it a
unique flavor that's richer than most summer brews. We just got back from a trip to Maine. One of the highlights of our trip was the time we spent in Bar Harbour and Acadia National Park. The picture below was taken at Cadillac Mountain a little before sunset. We took the majority of a sixpack up with us and enjoyed "Vacationland" while looking down at the Porcupine Islands. It was an evening we won't soon forget. Check out Maine, Acadia, and Gritty's if you have the opportunity. Its well worth the trip! |
