There is some major construction happening on International Drive this fall. Over $250 million has been spent on the redevelopment of the former Mercado site to create the new I-Drive Live. The new entertainment complex will cover about 20 acres and will include Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Sea Life Aquarium and the 425 foot high Orlando Eye! Yard House Restaurant is set to open in the spring of 2014 at the I Drive Live complex. This will make the sixth Yard House to open its doors in the state of Florida. According to its website, Yard's was created to have one of the best selections of draft beer around, a diverse selection of American Fare, and a heady selection of classic rock music played on a state of the art system. As for the beer... The following was taken from the Yard House Website... "Each Yard House location features a center island bar and an endless fleet of tap handles ranging from classic lagers to more obscure ales. The glass-enclosed keg room is essentially the pulse of the operation housing as much as 5,000 gallons of beer at a time. Three to five miles of individual beer lines stretch overhead from the keg room to the island bar maintaining a constant temperature of 34-36 degrees keeping the beer consistently fresh and perfectly chilled for every pint. Guests can sip their favorite draft beer from the popular half-yard, traditional pint or six pack sampler." Has anyone ever been to a Yard House before? I saw that they had a booth in Denver at the Great American Beer Festival this year but have yet to visit an actual restaurant. Let us know if you have been and what you thought!
