There are a couple of tasty looking beer dinners coming up in Orlando.  Ember will be featuring Widmer Brothers beers paired with gourmet food on October 8th at 6:00pm.  The event is sponsored by Draft Magazine and is part of the  "Explore Your Craft" series .  Widmer beers that will be featured include Hefeweizen , Drifter Pale Ale, Falconer's IPA,  Okto Festival Ale, Nelson Imperial IPA,and Pitch black.

Maggiano's at Pointe Orlando will have an Oktoberfest "Biergarten" on October 19th from 6:30-9:00 pm. This special event will feature selected Craft and Imported beers. The unique beer selections will be paired with delicious and  creative dishes prepared by Maggiano's Little Italy Chef Team.  Please call the Banquet Department at 407-241-8655 for reservations.

Wednesday night Magnolia Square Market in Sanford will be having a free Oktoberfest tasting!  A sampling of four different versions of the Marzen/Oktoberfest style will be available!  Wednesday night, 6-8pm at Magnolia Square market hosted by the Fermented Scientist Gary Holmes and Sanford Brewer Aaron Libera.

There's a big halfway to St. Patrick's day celebration this Saturday at Raglan Road!  Raglan's bar was flown over in pieces from Ireland and reassembled in its current home at downtown Disney.  I guess that's about as authentic as you can get as far as Irish Pubs go!

There will be lots of live entertainment, Irish dancing, fun competitions and fantastic giveaways! Enjoy music from U2 Tribute Band Elevation The International U2 Tribute Show and Ireland's latest ballad sensation Na Fianna.

It was a sad day a while back when Knightly Spirits moved out of Metro West.  It wasn't hard to spend an hour in that place just looking around at the great selection of beer they had to offer.  It's been tough finding a substitute that comes even close to Knightly without making a long drive to the other side of town. 

We really like the selection at Vines, Wine, & Spirits though.  They have a nice sized cooler, a good selection of 750's, and a nice amount of shelf space devoted to craft beer.  Its definitely the best we have seen on the west side of town.  They even have a beer/wine tasting at the end of every month and they have a pretty good website too.  Check out http://www.vineswineshop.com/ for more details and directions.  Its located near Moe's in "Restaurant Row".
