I had a chance to stop by and check out a new Orlando beer and wine bar called "The Thirsty Topher" this week. It's unassumingly tucked away on Alden Road in the Ivanhoe Village. The Thirsty Topher is a quaint little place with indoor and outdoor seating that has 14 craft brews on tap, a nice selection of bottles, and wine too. Looking at it from the outside, you would not expect the interior to look the way it does. The actual bar itself is probably one of the most unique in all of Orlando. Its made from a solid piece of Cypress wood and is absolutely beautiful. It almost looked too nice to set a drink down on it... Almost! You can check out their Facebook page for more details and pictures of the building of the bar. Owners Jason Perez and Ron DiDonato spent about a year remodeling the space inside and out. When I spoke with Ron he told me that they recently obtained their food license and will begin serving some tapas style light bites very soon. The Thirsty Topher opens at 4:00 pm each day and is closed on Mondays.
