We stopped by the new Redlight Red Light last night around 8:00 for a beer and to take a couple of pictures. It was also Zombiefest in the Audubon Park District so there were literally hundreds of people both young and old dressed as Zombies walking around enjoying the festivities. There were zombies drinking at the bar, zombies tending the bar, zombies dancing to live music in the streets, and zombies buying snacks next door at the 711. It was truly a scene that I can't say I've ever witnessed before in my life! It was really difficult to get any good pictures because the bar was so crowded. But we did manage to get a few decent shots and wanted to share them. The new Redlight Redlight has 26 craft beers on tap and will have around 300 different bottles. The first picture was taken from the front of the bar and looks a lot like the old space... The second picture was taken from the side of the bar. We weren't able to get a good shot of the bar itself but it appeared to be made of solid concrete. There is also a large walk in cooler behind the bar that houses the 26 draught beers. You can see how the high ceilings give the place a much more "open" feel than the old one. I'm not sure if they will do anything with the top floor but it looks like it would be a nice place for a band to play when they have one... This picture was taken from the back of the bar. Even though there were a ton of people there it still didn't seem too crowded... So let us know if you made it to the new place last night and what you thought of it.
