A whole bunch of Orlando craft beer establishments are participating in the festivities of Fat Tuesday in a few days. In case you don't know, Fat Tuesday is the "last hurrah" for Catholics before Lent begins the next day on Ash Wednesday. Historically, folks would load up their pie holes with the fattiest foods they could find in preperation for the upcoming fasting that would take place during lenten season. We certainly don't advise anyone to do anything crazy like give up craft beer this Lenten season. Why not head out for some of the local festivities though and enjoy a couple of nice beers while you are at it? Check out our list below and feel free to drop us a line if there is anything you know of that we are missing. Have fun! Millions of children die each year worldwide from illnesses that could be prevented by improved hygiene. Have you ever thought about what happens to that barely used soap or shampoo bottle you left behind in your hotel room? Well, usually it gets thrown away. It's estimated that about 1 million bars of soap are thrown away in the United States each day!!! Since its inception, Clean the World has put over 9.5 million soap bars and 200,000 pounds of shampoo and conditioner back into human use, simultaneously eliminating over 600 tons of waste.

We downloaded the new Beers and Ears Iphone App a couple days ago and have to say that its pretty darn useful. If you've spent any time at WDW you know how tough it can be to find a nice beer if you are in the wrong spot and unfamiliar with the place. Beers and Ears is a website/blog that is devoted solely to the beers served at Walt Disney World's parks and resorts. So they recently created a handy Iphone app that puts all of the information from their website into one convenient, technologically advanced location. The Beers and Ears App consists of 4 sections. WDW beer list, WDW map, Blog, and an About tab. Lets say you are dying for an Effenheimer IPA and want to know where to get one on Disney property. You would simply go to the WDW beerlist and scroll down to Effenheimer IPA. Then tap the beer to find out that its seved at the Cabana Bar and Beach Club. Curious what else is being served at the Cabana Bar? Just tap the name of the bar and a list of beers currently served there will appear. The WDW map consists of an overhead satellite image of Walt Disney World and marks each establishment that serves beer with a beer mug icon. If you are on Disney property, the GPS feature shows your current location so you can navigate your way toward what you are looking for. The GPS feature supposedly works best when you are actually on Disney Property. The bottom line here is that if you are a craft beer drinker and you visit Disney World on any sort of a regular basis you probably know a lot of the information on this app already. However, we have small children and visit the parks quite a bit and learned quite a lot from this. If you are on vacation then this would be a no brainer! So if you love craft beer and are planning a trip to Walt Disney World anytime soon definitely load up Beers and Ears to your IPhone. You'll be glad you did!
